Pool

Dario loves the pool and he really loves when Grandma goes swimming with him. We don't have many more days left of the pool being open so we had to take advantage of it while it is open.

CLEMYJONTRI PARK

As summer comes to a close we are trying to do a few things we did earlier in the summer. We headed to Clemyjontri Park. This park is a place where children who use wheelchairs, walkers or braces, or who have sensory or developmental disabilities, can have a parallel playground experience of fun and exploration. I love that there is a park that all children can play at, and we really enjoy this park! It is huge, and the ground is turf, and there are so many things for kids to do, including a carousel. We ran around the park all morning and Grandma was nice enough to treat us to lunch :)

Grandma is here!

Grandma arrived this afternoon and is staying with us for a little while. Grandma picked up Dario from school today and he was so excited! We had a wonderful dinner tonight and the night ended with Grandma reading Dario a book.

Cookie Dough

Dario and I made homemade chocolate chip cookies for the first time together. Dario stirred the dry ingredients and enjoyed watching the mixer blend everything together. Then I let him lick the left over cookie dough and he was in love as much as I was when I a kid. He licked some and said, "Good Stuff Mommy!" He is so darn cute!

Disney Store

Dario's new love is Mickey and friends. Dario does not watch Elmo anymore (happy about that), he loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. At school one of Dario's classmates had a Mickey t-shirt on a few weeks ago and Dario flipped out because Dario thought it was "so cool", so I wanted to get Dario one. I thought it would be so much fun to take Dario to the Disney Store. Then I thought more about it and thought the trip could go two ways. First, it could be that Dario wants everything in site and is grabbing things and we leave crying because I did not get everything he wanted. Second, he could have the time of his life and be so excited we are there, and that I got him a few things.

Well, it turned out to be GREAT! Dario ran into the store and started to yell MICKEY, and turned with a huge smile! Then he saw the stuffed animals and started yelling all the characters names. Then we wondered the store looking at everything in excitement. Dario picked out a few things that he wanted and he was very happy. We already had Mickey and Goofy at home so we added the rest to the collection. Dario had to take a nap with all of his friends and when he emerged from his room after his nap he had all his friends in his arms (2nd picture) and it was the cutest things ever! I felt like a kid again as I saw the excitement all over him as he wondered around the Disney Store in amazement!

Peekaboo

We took a nice long morning walk today. We were looking for sticks (not nearly as many as Nanny and PaPa have on their land) when we realized most of the sticks were near the trees. It got boring trying to look for sticks, so Dario decided to play Peekaboo. We had a blast playing! It got more interesting later when Dario found a large caterpillar on the sidewalk. Leaning down to see it was not good enough, so Dario laid on the ground and put his face as close as he could to the caterpillar before yelling "COOL MOMMY!"

We headed to the Sport Bounce place today. It was hot outside and Dario had a lot of energy that he needed to burn! As soon as we got there he went running towards the tallest slide he found, then threw off his shoes while I was paying. We played for 90 long minutes and got all sweaty and he loved every moment of it!

Vacuum

As some of you know Dario is obsessed with vacuums! Dario has to say goodbye to the vacuum whenever he leaves the house, and almost everyday we vacuum the house, because Dario enjoys it so much. When I vacuum at home, Dario vacuums along side or me or Dario hops around in excitement that the vacuum is on. Recently we got a new vacuum and Dario referred to it as the "cool vacuum". Grandma got the vacuum pictured above at a yard sale for three dollars and it looks like the "cool vacuum" we have at home. Dario was in heaven when he saw this vacuum and spent most of our time in Ohio with it by his side. When Dario's Grandpa stopped by for a visit Dario kept showing him the vacuum. It was the best three dollars Grandma every spent!

First Hair Cut

Dario finally had his first hair cut while we were in Ohio. Grandma cuts hair on the weekends so we had her cut Dario's hair. We didn't want to cut it because we both LOVE his curls. but it was getting a little wild. Overall he did well, and loved playing with the combs that Grandma had for him. Of course the cookie we had on the high chair helped out as well, whatever works! The last picture is the final outcome of the haircut. Now Vince and I can't wait for it to grow out of control again, we loved it that way!

Wedding

Dario, Vince and I headed to a wedding this past weekend. Vince was a groomsman and Dario was the ring bearer. It turned out to be a very hot day and Dario's dress shirt was way to big for him. But after grandma helped us out we were ready to go. Dario of course found the piano while we were taking pictures and had a great time playing us songs. Dario walked down the isle, after some help from uncle Brent. Then gave the pillow to Vince. Dario loved the bubbles after Jed and Erica got married and had a blast trying to get the bubbles out. It turned out to be a great day and a very long day as you can see Dario past out in his stroller, he was burning up so we tried cooling him down by taking off his clothes. We changed his clothes for the reception and he had a great time being chased around by Judy. We had many fun moments during the weekend!

Athens County Fair

I have not posted anything for a few days as we were out of town. We headed to Ohio because Vince and Dario were in a wedding, Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Pidcock! We had a blast and over the next few days I will be posting pictures of our trip. Here Dario is at the Athens County Fair. We just had to go because Vince went while growing up and he had to show Dario how good it was. Dario saw so many great things, but of course his favorite was the rides. Here are a few pictures, tomorrow I will post pictures of Dario in his tux!

Soccer

Dario has been in a soccer class all summer and really enjoys it. It is a great way for Dario to get out all his energy. In the first picture Dario is stretching and the rest of the pictures he is running around having a blast :)

Dario and I had a wonderful day at the water park. Dario enjoyed the little slides, and most of of the big slide. He went down the big one in the third picture all by himself, and then kept going again and again. He also enjoyed the lazy river and relaxing while the sun was shinning. After a few hours in the sun and water slides, Dario enjoyed a snack. His new thing is trail mix, as you can see he likes it a lot!

4H Fair

Of course when I mentioned there was a 4H fair going on to Vince he wanted to go. Vince was in 4H when he was younger, and had his own horse. We went to the fair and saw the cows, pigs, goats, horses, sheep. Dario loved making the animal sounds to the animals he saw, although I don't think the animals liked it. We also saw a tractor pull and thought of Charlie the entire time! When we went to see the horses Dario and Vince were excited but I think Vince was a little bit more excited. Vince was jealous of the stalls they had for the horses and the facility. We walked around and had a great time. Then it was time for the rides. Dario loves rides, the faster the better. In the first few pictures Dario was able to control which direction and how fast he could spin. Dario had a blast spinning around like crazy. The last picture is of course Dario in a swing, by far his favorite. He had to go on this ride twice, and loved every moment of it!
