The sororities had trick or treat last night. Danilo was dressed as Mickey and was so excited but all the attention he was getting from the sorority girls I could not get a clear pictures. We went to all the houses where all the girls were out and giving tons if attention to the boys! Then we headed to one of the sorority houses for an "after party" They had a haunted house, crafts, piƱata, pin the nose on the pumpkin, stories, candy.
The boys spent some time getting dirty and cleaning out their pumpkins to carve. Danilo had to have a Mickey pumpkin. Stand tuned to see what Dario picked!
We headed to the Alley Pond Pumpkin Walk last night and it was great! You hike around a huge pond that is lined on both sides with craved pumpkins. We saw some incredible ones, funny ones, and cute ones. As it got darker it was hard to capture the pictures. When we were done with the walk we were able to roast marshmallows and cook hotdogs with a huge bonfires they had set up. It was worth the drive!
Dario got his hard case put on and the doctor said he had many patterns, colors, and glow in the dark to pick from. Dario didn't take time to even look at what he said, he just said orange. So, little man is sporting an orange cast!
Well it was one if those random, fluke falls! He is padded head to toe and has had many falls and just keeps getting up with no worries because of all the padding. He happened to fall and hit the ice between his elbow and wrist, where there is no padding :( we went to the doctor and then headed to the ER, yep he broke it. He was a trooper and still wants to get back on the ice!
We all headed to the OU homecoming parade. This is the first one I was able to go to since when I was in college we always had practice and the alumni/varsity swim meet. The boys were thrilled by all the floats, music, characters, and candy. We had a great time listening to the marching 110 play the fight song!!
Being so close to Ohio University had many pluses. We are fortunate enough that the University has a Hockey team and they offer learn to play hockey sessions. Last night we were able to attend a free session to see if we wanted to sign up for the next eight weeks. Dario wanted to try it out so we headed to Bird Arena. We were put on an assembly line and got fitted for all the gear, (shoulder pads, knee pads, elbow pads, shorts, socks, skates, helmet, stick, jersey, gloves,) and then a hockey player helped Dario get dressed in all his gear. He then headed out on the ice with the hockey player and had a blast. There was no expectations, just come off the ice when you are done. Dario stayed out for over an hour and had a blast! He enjoyed the hockey players humor, and energy. After trying it out I asked if he wanted to continue playing hockey and learning how to get better. His response was ,"Well of course! It was so fun. You know mom when you fall on the ice it does not hurt!" I was happy he was excited about hockey, and the best part they rent all the gear for free!
I had a running partner this morning. He enjoyed listening to the music and saying hi to everyone. When I was done running Danilo got out of the stroller and had to show me how fast he runs!
