Discovering OREOS!

Dario and I headed to the store yesterday to get a few things and I promised we would pick up his favorite "brown cookies" which are just snackwells fat free cookies. Well, the store ended up being out of the cookies so I told Dario to pick out whatever cookie he wanted, knowing this would be difficult since we don't allow most cookies in our house. Of course very quickly he grabs the OREOS and says, "This one!" We have never had OREOS before but I told him to pick out anyone and they also happen to be holiday ones which means there is red inside. We headed home and all Dario talked about was his new cookie, we got into the house and I sat down and handed him three cookies. Dario sat there looking at them, investigating them, and then tried to pull them apart, and was having trouble. With some help we opened one up and then he licked the cream, ate the cookie, and started all over again with the next one. It was so funny to watch, it was like the commercials that used to be on T.V about the boy who eats an OREO. Dario is in love with his new cookies!

Winter Storm Fun

We had a nice snow storm last night into this morning that made traveling home last night a nightmare but luckily for us we had the day off and were safe and sound at home. Dario went down for a late nap yesterday and when he woke up we had already an inch of snow on the ground. Dario ran to the window and said ,"Oh no mommy it is messy out there! Go get the vacuum so we can clean it up!" I laughed so hard!

This morning school was closed for both of us and we ventured out to go sledding for the first time. It was an adventure trying to find some snow pants that actually fit my growing belly but after going through Vince's closet I found a pair. We got all bundled up and headed out to the hill and boy did he love it. We walked up the hill and we both went down together and he laughed the entire time. When we went up the hill for the second time Dario said, "No mommy, I do it alone!" After that I was only allowed on the sled one more time. You know it is so much more fun when your mom is not riding with you! We managed to stay out for 1 hour and a 1/2 of sledding and now we can sit inside and enjoy a movie with some hot chocolate until later when I promised we would go outside again!

Dario and I sat down to eat a nice dinner with steak, broccoli, and string beans. As soon as we sat down Dario said, "Mommy I want that stuff for steak." Well after a minute and not being able to figure out what the "stuff" was I asked Dario to show me. He got up went to the refrigerator and pulled out A1 sauce! He proceeded to pour it all over his steak and then eat it and say ," Delicious mommy!" As my stomach turned I smiled! We are not a sauce family at all, but the one sauce Vince will eat and loves is A1 sauce. He is turning into his father every day!

We headed to babies r us to try and figure out what we need for the arrival of baby number two in about 19 weeks. On our way out the door Dario spotted Elmo and just had to take a ride. :)

Enjoying Cupcakes

Dario made cupcakes last night and really enjoyed mixing everything together, and then adding the sprinkling. I think he ate more sprinkles then he actually put on the cupcakes, but he had fun!

Enjoying a Chocolate Shake

We headed to Red Robin today for lunch and Dario was very good, the shake was keeping his attention. Dario really enjoyed the shake, and was dancing while eating it.

Having fun at Bounce Places!

Having a very active child means finding ways he can get his energy out in a safe way. One way that Dario gets his energy out is by going to bounce places. He loves to bounce until he falls over being so tired. The taller the slide is, the happier Dario is as well. Here are a few pictures of Dario enjoying a bounce place.

Port Discovery Children's Museum

Dario and I had a great time at the Children's Museum. We had a great time playing with the cars, filling up with gas, going shopping, climbing, playing in the water section, and having a great time.

Waking Up the week after vacation!

Dario has struggled this week getting out of bed. This morning I asked him to come out to the living room so we could get ready for the day. I turned around and found Dario laying on the living room floor with his Spiderman blanket. How cute!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone! We have so much to be thankful for from 2010, it was a great year. We rang in the New Year with The Calabro family and friends and we had a wonderful time. All the kids ended up making it to midnight and I was able to sip on sparkling juice with Dario and get a nice big Happy New Year kiss and hug from my main man, Dario! We are looking forward to so many wonderful things in 2011, and hope it is just as good as 2010 was to us!

Playing in the Snow Again

In New York there was a large winter storm that kept us inside for a day. Once the storm was over we headed outside with the dogs for some fun. We enjoyed eating the snow, sledding, throwing snow, and chasing the dogs. Dario even cried when we made him go insides because it was too cold. We really had a blast in the snow!

Santa could not bring everything to New York so we decided to have another Christmas at home, while Skyping with Vince. He loved all his presents, especially the kitchen, which we have played with for two hours straight and stopped playing to eat. He also got a wonderful train set, and many other things. We really had a great Christmas and are thankful that Vince was able to Skype with us, we had a great time. Now, I am trying to figure out toys storage, my mission for the week!
