We took a nice drive west through the country towards Winchester to a Science Museum. It was in Old Town Winchester which was very nice and quiet. There were so many things to discover in the museum but Dario's favorite was the simple machines area for the apples. He was able to use pulley's to move the apples around, a conveyor belt, and wagon with a ramp and he loved every minute of it.
Our King Cake has arrived! Every year Claire's aunt sends her a King Cake from New Orleans and every year we really enjoy it! We get one small cake to eat ourselves and another one for Claire to take to work. Claire shares the history of the King Cake with her students and then they each get a piece. We all enjoyed the King Cake tonight, can't wait to see how gets the baby this year.
We took sometime today and went bowling. We were very proud of Dario today, having to carry his own bowling ball to the lane each time, which was very heavy. We could not convince him to use a ball that was lighter. Dario had a wonderful time and bowled really well!
Enjoying a nice milk shake with our lunch out today. He is growing up so fast, telling us what he wants to eat, and eating it all! He is so cute!
So, it has been a very long time since I have posted something. Since Vince's return I try to spend ever minute we are awake together. I love watching the interactions of Dario and Vince and having Vince around again after such a long time is fantastic. I have been staying away from the cyber world, knowing I rather be spending time with my boys. I will try better in the upcoming weeks to sneak away from them to post some great pictures!
Dario is in love with puzzles, and the more pieces the better! This puzzled arrived the other night from Nanny and he just had to put it together, and don't dare help him, he gets really upset with you. Puzzles are the one thing he has managed to focus all his attention on and loves the challenge! I am thankful that Nanny sent us a few puzzles!
What a night we had! This was such an exciting and emotional night for us. We headed to Dulles airport and arrived to see a sign that said "customs wait could be 1-3 hours". Oh, boy I thought but we entertained ourselves for about an hour and then finally around the corner came Vince. Dario started screaming, "MY DADDY!, MY DADDY!" He went running to Vince and I slowly followed crying. We are so excited that he is home!
Dario and I headed to the store yesterday to get a few things and I promised we would pick up his favorite "brown cookies" which are just snackwells fat free cookies. Well, the store ended up being out of the cookies so I told Dario to pick out whatever cookie he wanted, knowing this would be difficult since we don't allow most cookies in our house. Of course very quickly he grabs the OREOS and says, "This one!" We have never had OREOS before but I told him to pick out anyone and they also happen to be holiday ones which means there is red inside. We headed home and all Dario talked about was his new cookie, we got into the house and I sat down and handed him three cookies. Dario sat there looking at them, investigating them, and then tried to pull them apart, and was having trouble. With some help we opened one up and then he licked the cream, ate the cookie, and started all over again with the next one. It was so funny to watch, it was like the commercials that used to be on T.V about the boy who eats an OREO. Dario is in love with his new cookies!
We had a nice snow storm last night into this morning that made traveling home last night a nightmare but luckily for us we had the day off and were safe and sound at home. Dario went down for a late nap yesterday and when he woke up we had already an inch of snow on the ground. Dario ran to the window and said ,"Oh no mommy it is messy out there! Go get the vacuum so we can clean it up!" I laughed so hard!
Dario and I sat down to eat a nice dinner with steak, broccoli, and string beans. As soon as we sat down Dario said, "Mommy I want that stuff for steak." Well after a minute and not being able to figure out what the "stuff" was I asked Dario to show me. He got up went to the refrigerator and pulled out A1 sauce! He proceeded to pour it all over his steak and then eat it and say ," Delicious mommy!" As my stomach turned I smiled! We are not a sauce family at all, but the one sauce Vince will eat and loves is A1 sauce. He is turning into his father every day!
We headed to babies r us to try and figure out what we need for the arrival of baby number two in about 19 weeks. On our way out the door Dario spotted Elmo and just had to take a ride. :)
Dario made cupcakes last night and really enjoyed mixing everything together, and then adding the sprinkling. I think he ate more sprinkles then he actually put on the cupcakes, but he had fun!
We headed to Red Robin today for lunch and Dario was very good, the shake was keeping his attention. Dario really enjoyed the shake, and was dancing while eating it.
Having a very active child means finding ways he can get his energy out in a safe way. One way that Dario gets his energy out is by going to bounce places. He loves to bounce until he falls over being so tired. The taller the slide is, the happier Dario is as well. Here are a few pictures of Dario enjoying a bounce place.
Dario and I had a great time at the Children's Museum. We had a great time playing with the cars, filling up with gas, going shopping, climbing, playing in the water section, and having a great time.
Dario has struggled this week getting out of bed. This morning I asked him to come out to the living room so we could get ready for the day. I turned around and found Dario laying on the living room floor with his Spiderman blanket. How cute!
